I have been visiting Speakeasy on every Thursdays for last 3 or 4 weeks. I heard about Thursday being karaoke night. I met staff Rob. With my health issue including memory loss and light sensitivity of epilepsy, he has been great bar staff. He always makes me feel welcome. He knows my drinks, looks after my drink when I go outside for smoke. He looks after me when I feel uncomfortable with people approaching me. If you want to have a good evening and feel safe, Rob is your man.

Speakeasy is a perfectly serviceable gay bar in Glasgow's city centre. Polite man on the door. Comfortable banquette's. The requisite red lighting. Lots of cocktails. Plus a DJ pumping house & techno. Bachelorettes on the dance floor. It looked like the type of place where one would stop for a drink before moving on to another bar. Make up your own mind. We had one & moved on.

A jumping place with a friendly atmosphere. A good demographic mix too. We just went for drink. We're not fans of very loud music, but if you are – you'll love it.

Looking tired . The entrance looked like a dumping ground for what I think was barriers and those banners thst attach for making outdoor seating areas. These were on the stairs that used to lead to the Trophy Room which no.longer is used. I ordered a Gin and Tonic, which tasted of gas from the gun staff were not interested in changing as to busy carrying on behind the bar with each other . The manager or a young man who seemed to be organising things actually liked like he was of age to be behind a bar. Only decent aspect of the night was the DJ is they are still called that playing 80s hits .

Great bar, great prices, they even welcome my little dog with water and treats as soon as we are seated! Being able to bring my dog is a lifeline for me. Staff are exceptional..
